One of the most exciting places to be in Los Angeles, the whole 1.6-mile stretch of the Sunset Strip is filled to the brim with nightlife, legendary music venues, and world-class dining. Located along Sunset Boulevard, the Sunset Strip traverses through West Hollywood, neatly tucked between Crescent Heights Boulevard and Doheny Drive. Aside from after-dark activities, Sunset Strip is iconic in LA imagery for its large collection of billboard signs, which dazzle come nighttime.
The Sunset Strip has been the stage of several events throughout contemporary history. In the 1960s, it was ground zero for a number of counterculture protests. The 70s and 80s turned the neighborhood into a playground for rock and roll crowd. Today, it’s known as the best place in LA to catch live music entertainment, with legendary venues such as Viper Room and Whisky a Go Go located along the strip.
An important part of LA popular culture, the Sunset Strip has been part of numerous television shows and movies. Drive past the bright lights and up the hills and you’ll be greeted with spectacular views and some of the most private and coveted real estate in the city. In this way, the Sunset Strip has got it all.
Real estate and homes for sale in the Sunset Strip
The Sunset Strip is mostly commercial in nature, the whole stretch lined with must-visit shopping, dining, and entertainment hubs. In this respect, most of the real estate offerings in the Sunset Strip are found north, perched high in the neighborhood called Hollywood Hills West, awarding seclusion and stunning views of the Los Angeles basin to residents. Other real estate options are found in West Hollywood, south of the strip. Still, exclusive condominiums and apartments can be found within close proximity to the Sunset Strip, with most of these residences located in high-end Sunset Plaza.
The hilly area north of Sunset Strip is home to architectural gems and addresses widely considered as some of the most sought-after in all of Los Angeles. These communities include The Bird Streets (which includes Doheny Estates) and Laurel Canyon.
